Latin-American Cement Research Network

Lat-RILEM, the Latin American branch of RILEM, kindly invites you to the meeting of the foundation of a Latin American research network in cement, which aims to bring together researchers from companies and research institutions. This network is an original proposition of Dr. Roberto Torrent, as former DAC chair and RILEM Board member.

Inspired by the Nanocem, the network will aim to investigate cost-effective solutions for the most important technical problems of the Latin American cement industry, including environmental problems, and accelerate the formation of qualified human resources for both industry and academia. The research agenda will be agreed upon by the participants.

For industry, the network is an opportunity to reduce their research costs and improves the search for human resources for R&D. To the academia, the network is an opportunity to increase the social relevance of research activities, in addition to having access to the accumulated knowledge in the cement industry. The network will be associated with Nanocem, which will further accelerate the development of research.

The event will be a combination of technical presentations (in collaboration with the 7th Brazilian Congress of Cement) followed a meeting between representatives of interested institutions to the plan the network. Experts who do not have submitted papers to the work 7ºCBCi may propose to the network meeting organizers an extra presentation, lasting 10 minutes. This will be confirmed.

LatRILEM will support all activities of the network.
