The Japan Concrete Institute (JCI) celebrated its 50th Anniversary in Tokyo, Japan.

JCI invited Mark Alexander, President of RILEM to attend the celebration. On Sunday 12 July 2015, both organizations renewed the International Partnership Agreement that they signed in September 2007, in Ghent, at the RILEM week of that year.

JCI already has a long tradition of cooperation with RILEM. JCI is a RILEM Corporate Member and has always been closely linked to the National Japanese group of RILEM.

Because of JCI’s strong international technical reputation and excellent work, RILEM is very happy to be associated with JCI.During the week 13-17 July, JCI held a number of parallel conference events in Tokyo, with the general theme of "strategic initiatives focused on concrete engineering of the next generation", in celebration of their 50th anniversary.
