Abstract: This paper reviews some of the recent progress in the structural applications of Ductile Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composites (or DFRCC), with particular emphasis on a subclass of such material called Engineered Cementitious Composites (or ECC). A summary of the design and characteristics of such materials is presented followed by a review of recent applications of both hybrid fiber DRFCC and hybrid fiber ECC. The reviewed applications include the use of DFRCC/ECC for enhancing corrosion durability of RC beams, effectively strengthening RC beams, and designing impact & blast resistant protective panels. The review demonstrates that both DFRCC and ECC can significantly enhance the performance of structures incorporating these materials.
