Abstract: High strength concrete is more liable to cracking than conventional concrete. In order to study the factors influencing cracking tendencies it is necessary to use special laboratory tests which allow parameter studies. An initial investigation on factors influencing restraint stresses was made using a cracking frame at the Institute of Building Materials, Technical University of Munich.
