Abstract: The implementation of Contour Crafting (CC) in automated construction requires the construction materials posses some special properties, such as fast setting and early strength. In order to find suitable materials for automated construction, several mortar mixes based on fastsetting cements have been developed and tested. The result of setting times of showed large difference between different kind of mixes and the range was from 10 minutes to several hours. The compressive strength several mortar mixes developed quickly during the early age. These results showed the tested materials could satisfy the requirements of automation construction.
