Abstract: A new demoulding process based on concrete polarization using electric potential is applied at a low temperature of 8±2°C. This technique is an alternative solution to compensate disadvantage and some risks associated with the use of mineral-based oil due to its petrochemical origin. The investigated mixtures, commonly used for concrete wall, are a Self Consolidating Concrete and a Normal Concrete. Results indicate that the proposed polarization technique can provide an effective means to separate the concrete and the formwork without demoulding oil. Tests realized on site show very good facing quality of the concretes without attachment points. A chromatography analysis on the pore solution of the concrete and on the transported water by electro-osmosis shows that ions concentrations are not affected.
