Abstract: The bond between a single filament and the surrounding fine grained concrete plays a decisive role in the performance of a multi-filament yarn °/° fine grained concrete system loaded with a pull-out force. The present study proposes an experimental technique and a subsequent analysing procedure which allows the identification of the predominating bond stress versus slip relation (tau)(s) of a filament °/° matrix combination. Thus a systematic tailoring of the material properties - interfacial characteristics - in regard to an optimised performance, e.g. high adhesional bond, will be simplified. Exemplary pull-out test results for sized, unsized and plasma treated filaments in combination with two different matrices are evaluated, presented and discussed in this paper.
