Abstract: The use of polypropylene fibres is recommended by the EUROCODE 2 standard as a technological solution reducing the risk of explosive spalling of high performance concretes (HPC) that are exposed to high temperatures. This paper presents the results of research concerning the impact of polypropylene fibre addition amounting to 0.1% and 0.2% of concrete volume (0.9 and 1.75 kg/m3) on the changes in compressive strength and the modulus of elasticity as functions of temperature in the range from 20°C to 600°C.
