Abstract:
The aim of this investigation was to determine the influence of curing regimes on mechanical properties (compressive strength) and durability properties (chloride diffusion coefficient and coefficient of capillary absorption) of high performance concretes with different addition of metakaolin. Concrete mixtures were prepared using different quantities of metakaolin and different water-cement ratios (0.40. 0.35). Two different curing regimes (laboratory conditions and on site curing) were applied to all concrete mixtures. Results from this experimental study are useful for application of high performance metakaolin concrete in structures exposed to aggressive environment, prepared strictly according to the instructions set below.
