Proposal for a position within Construction Materials at DTU, Denmark (before 1st March 2012)

The Department of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark offers a position as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor within Construction Materials.

Responsibilities and tasks
The position is affiliated with the Section for Construction Materials and involves teaching and supervision tasks at all university levels. Since the DTU bachelor program is in Danish, it is expected that the applicant will master Danish within a reasonable time after being appointed.
The successful applicant is expected to actively participate in fund-raising to attract externally funded research projects. Furthermore, the successful applicant is expected to contribute to a continuous expansion of national and international networking activities.

Qualifications
Candidates for an:

_Assistant Professorship must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent)
_Associate Professorship must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an Assistant Professorship and should document didactic/pedagogic training.

The applicant should have background within Concrete Materials and may have specialized knowledge within one or more of the following topics: fresh concrete properties, materials structure analysis, durability, environmentally friendly concrete or recycling.

The applicant should have an international level of experimentally-based research combined with solid theoretical knowledge.

Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to
 - experience in teaching and education 
 - scientific production and research potential at an international level
 - the ability to promote and utilize research results
 - an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience
 - the ability to contribute to development of the department’s internal and external cooperation

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
