Professor Susan Bernal Lopez awarded 2021 Kavli Foundation Early Career Lectureship in Material Science

RILEM congratulates Professor Susan Bernal Lopez who was recently awarded the prestigious Kavli Foundation early career lectureship in materials science by the Materials Research Society. The award recognises significant novel contributions to materials science by researchers in their early career. More info available here.

Prof. Bernal was Gustavo Colonnetti medallist in 2016. Prof. Bernal is Associate Editor of the Board of Editors of RILEM Technical Letters, and Deputy Chair of RILEM TC 281-CCC Carbonation of concrete with supplementary cementitious materials.

Prof. Bernal is Professor of Structural Materials at the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds, focusing on research areas including cement materials characterization, waste management and cement and concrete durability.
