Since 2018, RILEM supports PhD students from countries with low-medium GDP with funds to attend in person the RILEM Annual Weeks. The awardees of the 2024 RILEM PhD travel grant attending the RILEM Annual Week in Toulouse, France, are:
- V.A Anupama, PhD Scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India, presenting “Impact of wind on the salt weathering resistance of masonry mortars”
- Ninan Chinnu Mariam, PhD Scholar at TKM College of Engineering, India, presenting “Prediction of degradation in cementitious systems exposed to organic acid environments using artificial intelligence (AI) programming”
- Morwal Tarun, PhD Scholar at Delhi Technological University, India, presenting “Effect of Supplementary cementitious materials on the performance of reinforced concrete structure under corrosion using EMI Technique”
- Gamieldien Areej, PhD Scholar at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, presenting “Review of recycled aggregate processing techniques and quality control measures in the South African context”
- Ferreira Moreira de Souza Luiza, PhD Scholar at the Federal University of Uberlandia, Brazil, presenting “Autogenous shrinkage and mechanical properties in cementitious mixtures with superabsorbent polymer and metakaolin”
- Salas Jesus López, PhD Scholar at Saltillo Unit, Mexico, presenting “Strength optimization and durability of lightweight hybrid binder mortars based on volcanic pumice”
- Delbianco Natalia, PhD Scholar at the Universidad Nacional del Sur, Argentina, presenting “Electrochemical monitoring of reinforced concrete with plant-based corrosion inhibitor”.
