Title: Research Needs for Cementitious Materials: Focus Europe

This presentation continues the series of RILEM Technical Letter papers focussed on research needs in different regions. Here we look at need in Europe although most aspects discussed also have a global relevance. We look at the chain of production and use of Cements starting from clinker, discussing possible alternatives to Portland cement and then multicomponent blends, before moving to concrete, durability potential for digitalisation, recycling and carbon capture and storage and use. For each topic we try to link the application needs to the underlying scientific questions.
