Title: From Nonconventional to Non-Negotiable: Bamboo as a Mainstream Construction Material

This seminar will introduce the state-of-practice enabling the emergence of full-culm (round pole) bamboo and engineered bamboo products in the construction sector. Established design codes, material specifications and test methods will be briefly introduced and myths about the use of bamboo debunked. A vision for greater adoption of bamboo – recognising technical limitations – is presented.
