DTU-RILEM Doctoral Courses - Concrete Curing: From the Research Lab to the Construction Site
Advances in concrete technology over the past decades have led to the practical use of concrete with a low water to binder ratio. Furthermore, extensive uses of mineral and chemical admixtures in different combinations have become more popular in the construction practice. Unfortunately, some of these concretes are prone to cracking at an early age, unless special precautions are taken. Proper curing has become a critical issue to utilize the full potential of these novelties, in particular to achieve better performance of such concretes in various environmental and load conditions.
The course is aimed at promoting knowledge transfer from the research lab to the construction site, with the final goal of ensuring an economical, trouble-free structure for the user.
