Congreso C2 Cemento y Concreto Verde 2050
One of FICEM objectives is to spread knowledge and good practices in the region to achieve that the cement and concrete industry will be Carbon neutral by 2050.
To fulfill this purpose, FICEM will hold the C2 Congress: Green Cement & Concrete 2050, from May 6 to 9, 2024 in Guatemala City. This event promotes the strategies and best practices of the cement and concrete industry in the region to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, based on its challenges and opportunities.
The main objectives of the event are:
- To follow up on the global and regional strategy and progress towards Net Zero 2050 in the cement and concrete industry.
- Strengthen technical and environmental capacities in Latin America and the Caribbean to address carbon neutrality by 2050, including aspects related to accounting, metrics, new technologies, green procurement, standards, specifications, and market deployment of low-carbon products.
- To link the technical and scientific areas of the industry and governments to define the guidelines, strategies, and scope of the decarbonization of the sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- To analyze, discuss and validate the next actions related to the use of nature-based solutions and methane reduction in the waste sector through co-processing, including the analysis of experiences, studies, and calculation methodologies.
- To provide a space for exchange, discussion and interaction among colleagues.
The congress is expected to be attended by the cement and concrete industry, academia, multilateral organizations, standardization organizations, specialized technical consultants, builders, designers, suppliers, among others.
